Date: 26th September 2025
Venue: Royal Nairobi Golf Club
The sun rose over the immaculate greens of the Royal Nairobi Golf Club as the Afrikan Women Diversity Centre (AWDC) hosted its Inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, bringing together golfers, corporate partners, and community champions for a cause bigger than sport.
From 6 AM to 6 PM, the fairways echoed with the rhythm of competition and camaraderie as players teed off under the banner “Swinging for Change.” Each stroke symbolized a commitment to empowering women and advancing diversity across Africa.
The event opened with warm remarks from AWDC leadership, followed by an official tee-off ceremony that set the tone for a day filled with energy, purpose, and fellowship. With support from key partners — notably Decathlon Sports Megastore, who showcased golf and sports products — the tournament reflected how partnership and purpose can power impact.
As the day progressed, teams battled it out across 18 holes, sharing laughter, learning, and stories of inspiration. Beyond the greens, participants engaged in meaningful conversations about how sport can unite communities and fuel social transformation.
By evening, winners were crowned and everyone left with more than medals — they carried a shared vision for a more inclusive and empowered Africa.
The AWDC Inaugural Charity Golf Tournament was more than a sporting event; it was the start of a legacy — one where every swing contributes to opportunity, equality, and change.
